The Informational Session will be held in MORPC’s Scioto Conference Room (111 Liberty Street, Suite 100 Columbus, OH 43215). Pease RSVP to Amanda McEldowney at 614.233.4112 or amceldowney@morpc.org by Friday, August 6, 2010.

6th Annual Kickin' Ash Splash

The 6th annual Kickin' Ash Splash was held at the Heath City Water Park on July 10, 2010 from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm.  Over 1,100 individuals from Licking County attended this event. The evening was a success and a great outlet to spread important health messages.  Thanks to our sponsors, we were able to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to everyone attending the event.  Along with the healthy snacks, there were informational displays.  One showed chemicals found in several household cleaning products that can also be found in cigarettes, other tobacco products and secondhand smoke.  Another display helped visualize how many milligrams of sodium are recommended for our diets versus how much we actually consume.  When someone sees the sodium content in certain foods, it helps them become more aware of how much they are eating.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event and made it a huge success!  The Kickin' Ash Splash was sponsored by the Licking County Health Department, Licking County Wellness Coalition, Licking Memorial Health Systems, Park National Bank and Time Warner Cable.
